My work at Insight was based on iterative feedback following a user validated design process. This defined the hybrid UX/UI design position I led in designing business critical B2B trading applications as part of the Fusion app suite, specifically D-LEM the Deleverage Event Management app.
Before we could build D-LEM the legacy app PIMMS (Portfolio Management Monitring System) used by Fund Managers to monitor funds had to be conventionalised. In my research it became apparent that much of the legacy app was left un-used. FMs would only engage with 5 of 19 screens in relative task based scenarios. Once the redesign of PIMMS had been signed off and task flows to complex processes – such as the cash adjustments life cycle – had been analysed we moved into the discovery phase of D-LEM. Starting with current process mapping and the analysis of business critical pain points: to be resolved in MVP development.
Following the new process design I built screens based on the most important issues to be resolved by the trading app; surfacing client data for fund managers to make effective trades in the case of a deleverage event, necessitating the event management system we implemented.
